Sebago is a Cumberland County town of around 1,900 year-round residents, incorporated in 1826, sitting on the western shore of Sebago Lake -- Maine's second largest and deepest lake. The western shore is notably quieter and less developed than the eastern side, which gives Sebago a more private character than its busier neighbors. Douglas Mountain rises to about 1,400 feet within town and offers a short hike with sweeping views of the lake and White Mountains. Portland is roughly 32 miles south, and North Conway is about the same distance west. The year-round population swells significantly in summer as seasonal residents and campers arrive. Waterfront property on this stretch of Sebago Lake is among the more coveted in the region.
