Harrison is a Cumberland County town of around 2,700 residents, incorporated in 1805, with its village center sitting at the northern end of Long Lake where Crystal Lake flows into it. Long Lake is shared with Bridgton to the west, giving Harrison waterfront character without the commercial activity of its larger neighbor. The historic Deertrees Theatre, built in 1936, hosts productions and the Sebago Long Lake Music Festival each summer. Portland is about 40 miles south, and North Conway is roughly 30 miles west. For buyers seeking lakefront or near-water property in a quieter setting than Bridgton, Harrison is a natural alternative.
